Speed Index @ Školská

Speed Index is a show that unites artists who work with experimental music and light installations. The common idea is transformation of images, surfaces and texts into sounds. It unites something that is autonomous and seems impossible to unite. Participating artists used various contemporary materials and approaches which makes the show kind of hi-tech and progressive.

Not my cup of tea, honestly speaking – not very aesthetically pleasing and the smell is horrible, but I like the idea of art that “lives” and “functions” freely, but does not serve as a “decor for the offices of hedge fund managers”. New technologies, progressive materials like leftovers from ribber tires’ production and the fact that we are living and functioning in a capitalist society, leads us to the idea of “acceleration”. Is it possible to destroy capitalism that turns art into commodity? Daniel Vlček and his fellow artists definitely say “yes”.
